Chaim Goldberg
Chaim Goldberg was born in 1917 in Kazimierz Dolny, Eastern Poland. Most of his works portray the Jewish Community in the Polish Shtetl. In 1931, at the age of 14, Professor Shaul Zilberstein (Sigmund Freud’s student) visited Kazimierz and discovered Goldberg’s paintings. This is how his artistic talent became known. With the rise of Nazism he escaped Poland and returned only after the war. In 1955 he immigrated to Israel and then to the United States. He passed away at the age of 87 in the USA.
